Whole Cities Foundation launched the Community First Grant Program to build thriving local food systems and grow community health. Through the program, we support partnerships between Whole Foods Market Team Members and locally-led, fresh food access projects nationwide.
In 2016, we partnered with 32 new communities and invested a total of $168,000 in diverse projects like urban farms, mobile markets and community gardens that are increasing community access to fresh, healthy food.
In 2017, Whole Cities Foundation invested $220,000 to support 44 partnerships nationwide.
This last year in 2018, we've invested $255,000 in 51 partnerships representing 40 cities and 21 states!
