Scott Collier joined Whole Foods Market in 2016 and leads the Business Development team’s lending, equity investing, equity warrants and in-store partnerships activities. Scott began his career in the 20th century as an aircraft design engineer, and after earning an MBA from UT-Austin, he became a venture capital investment principal, participating over a couple of decades in a number of successful (and unsuccessful) early-stage ventures in the tech, specialty retail and food/CPG sectors.
Scott is an enthusiastic cook and avid fermenter, with batches of kraut, pickles and lacto-fermented pepper sauces always in process, and a few years back he founded a winemaking cooperative venture with friends, buying small lots of grapes from top growers, making, drinking and selling the resulting wine, and investing the meager profits in a portfolio of zero-interest agricultural micro loans though kiva.org.
